Choosing to parent can feel overwhelming. You may have more questions than answers. You may be concerned about these things:

  • My partner doesn’t want the baby, but I do.
  • I can’t tell my family.
  • How will I finish school?
  • How will I continue working?
  • Where will I live?
  • I don’t have medical insurance.
  • I have no support.
  • I’m too young.

The good news is that we will answer your questions and talk with you about these issues.  Pregnancy Resource Center of Lapeer is ready to connect you with resources and referrals for prenatal care, childbirth preparation classes, parenting classes, infant supplies and more, to help you decide if parenting is right for you.

There are many things to consider when looking at the adoption option. Will it be private or will you use an adoption agency? Will it be open or closed?  You make the decision that works best for you and your baby.

Here are a few things to consider:

  •  You can pursue your life goals
  •  You will not have to parent before you are ready
  •  You can choose the family with whom to place your child
  •  With adoption you can change your mind; abortion is final

Women who thought that abortion was their only way out often find that adoption is a loving choice for the birth mother, baby and the adoptive family.

PRCOL is not an adoption agency and doesn’t directly participate in the facilitation of adoption, but we will provide referrals for adoption agencies.

When considering an abortion, your health and safety is important.  Remember, abortion is a medical procedure.

Pregnancy Recourse Center of Lapeer is a place that will  give you answers to your questions and you will receive medically accurate education that will enable you to make an informed choice.

If you are considering an abortion, you need to know:

  • Are you really pregnant?
  • What are the risks?
  • How far along are you?
  • Are you at risk for a natural miscarriage?
  • Do you have a tubal pregnancy?

Pregnancy Resource Center of Lapeer  does not provide or make referrals for abortion or emergency contraception; nor does PRCOL provide information on how or where to obtain an abortion or emergency contraception. We will provide all of our clients with accurate information about pregnancy options.
